I've been wanting to make an advent calendar for my kids for the longest time, and I think I waited so long because I wanted it to be perfect and 100% handmade. But then I realized I'm probably never going to get around to it LOL. I finally found this wall hanging and it was the perfect little calendar for me to add my own design to! If you're looking to make your own, here's everything linked below on what you need to make it and how I put mine together (:
Happy holidays!!
Here's the wall hanging calendar I found:
So this project was actually so simple! I downloaded a script font from dafont.com and uploaded it into the Procreate app on my iPad.
Here's a quick tutorial on how to download and use fonts on the procreate app if you're new to this world!
The snowflakes are actually from my festive stick n stitck pack--you'll just need to enlarge them before you print them out so I suggest grabbing the PDF download from my site here to do that.
Then you'll need some water soluble sticker paper to print your designs onto. You can find it here on Amazon or in my shop here!
For the lettering, I used this fun candy-cane lettering technique with DMC #666 and DMC #3865. Here's a quick tutorial on candy cane lettering (spoiler it's actually just a whipped backstitch). If you're super new to embroidery, check out the beginner friendly slow paced tutorial here on my YouTube channel.
When you're finished, I suggest taking the wooden dowel out when you wash off the stabilizer and then stick it back in once it's all dry (:
Happy creating!
